We have a new episode of the real slashers series of videos to share with you today, and in this one we revisit the 1982 classic The Slumber Party Massacre (Look at this HERE), the start of a franchise about killers who prefer to use big drills to take out their victims. Something interesting about Slumber Party Massacre series is the fact that each of the four official entries were written and directed by women, starting with director Amy Holden Jones and feminist writer/author Rita Mae Brown on the first. For all the latest on the Jones and Brown-directed film, watch the video embedded above.

The Slumber Party Massacre has the following synopsis:

When Trish decides to invite her high school girls’ basketball teammates to a slumber party, she has no idea the night will end with an unexpected guest – an escaped mental patient and his portable power drill – who will crush the Party.

The film stars Michele Michaels, Robin Stille, Michael Villella, Debra Deliso, Andree Honore, Gina Mari, Jennifer Meyers, Pamela Roylance and Brinke Stevens.

Here is what real slashers is all about:

Ahhh the 80s. A simpler time when the blood ran red, the boobies swung free and the weed was copiously smoked. A time when rampant killers were just excuses for over-sex and over-the-top murder. Yes, we are witnessing a time when slasher film has been unleashed in cinemas around the world. Today we are looking at the “Real Slashers”.

The show is written, narrated and edited by Tyler Nichols, produced by John Fallon and produced by Berge Garabedian.
