Stay decent on Wednesday, to face KGF Chapter 2 today

Box Office – RRR (Hindi) remains decent on Wednesday, to face KGF – Chapter 2 today (Photo credit: poster)

It was a decent Wednesday for RRR (Hindi) because 2 crore.* While a daily drop in collections is on the expected lines, in the pockets the film was also impacted by Vijay starrer Beast (the Tamil, not the Hindi version Raw which saw a release apology). At least on the day of release, Tamil movies with big stars also tend to do well in Hindi pockets which has been seen in Master as well as Valimai. The answer from the second is a different story since merit comes into play, but the first few days are generally good from an occupation standpoint, especially due to small outings outside of the south.

Coming to RRR (Hind), the movie now sits at 240.59 crores* and the good thing is that now it is within 10 crore of the 250 crore milestone. Jersey’s postponement worked in his favor as he managed to save quite a few screens for himself. Of course, KGF (Hindi) Chapter 2 is set for a record opening day today, so collections of RRR (Hindi) may well come down to 1 crore. Still, it’s a long weekend ahead, so at least another 5 crores are on the cards by the end of Sunday. This will take the film to a jaw-dropping 250 crores in total, which should finally pass in a few weeks.

It would now be interesting to see if NTR Jr and Ram Charan sign a full Hindi movie after the success of the movie or if it would be another south based pan-Indian movie for them.

*Estimates. Final figures expected

Note: All collections according to production and distribution sources
