NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Rodney Carrington has announced his 2023 Rodney Carrington Comedy Tour, and one of the first stops of 11 dates scheduled for January and February will be in Wheeling.
Carrington will bring his brand of comedy to the Capitol Theater on Thursday, Jan. 19 in Wheeling. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. today, Friday, November 18.
Carrington is known for the witty and sarcastic humor he is able to mix in various mediums from stand-up, music and short films. He seamlessly integrates his country roots into the essence of his demeanor and writing style.
The multi-talented comedian, actor, singer and writer is playing to sold-out houses around the world as one of the top 10 highest-grossing touring comedians of the past two decades.
A platinum-selling artist, Carrington recorded eight major label comedy albums, followed by three albums on her own label, Laughter’s Good Records. His latest album “Here Comes the Truth” (released in 2017) soared to No. 3 on the comedy charts, racking up tens of millions of streams on Spotify and even spawning a Netflix special.
He broke through with his first major-label comedy CD “Hangin’ With Rodney” in 1998. The following years saw nine more Top 10 comedy albums, all of which continue to receive radio airplay and chart regularly. national comedy charts. “Hangin’ With Rodney” and “Morning Wood” achieved gold certification from the RIAA, and his Greatest Hits album (a double CD) reached platinum status. Carrington also released “Make it Christmas” which features his original song “Camouflage and Christmas Lights”, a tribute to our military.
He also added “author” to his list of accomplishments with the release of his book “Rodney Carrington, Coming Clean” published by Hatchette Books.
Over the years, he starred in his own television sitcom, “Rodney”, which ran for two seasons on ABC, co-wrote and co-starred with Toby Keith in the feature film “Beer for My Horses”, which won won the ACM’s Tex Ritter Award and starred in his own Netflix special “Here Comes The Truth.” He’s also appeared on countless other television shows, including the ACAs (American Country Awards), hosting American Country New Year’s Eve Live on FOX, and won the “Supporting Character of the Year” from the CMT Music Video Awards for her appearance on Trace Adkins’ “I Got My Game On” music video.
