The highly anticipated Telugu film “Ramarao on Duty” has finally released in theaters, directed and written by Sarath Mandava, this is her 2nd directing venture and her first Telugu film.
The movie isn’t the same conventional comic book movie that Ravi Teja is known for, you’ll see the actor in a different light in the film. He plays the role of an honest deputy collector in the film. It is produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri under the Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Cinemas and RT Team Works banner.
Number of screens
Ramarao on Duty was released in more than 1000 theaters worldwide, it managed to occupy around 670 theaters in the domestic market (AP-TG). The Nizam, Ceeded and Andhra theaters are 235, 120 and 315 respectively. It is released in over 250 theaters overseas.

Box Office Collection Day 1
The film got an equivalent number of theaters compared to Thank You and The Warriorr, the latter film had done very well on day one with the same theaters. Hence, the star of Mass Mahraja has to get along well with the masses to perform at the box office. The film had a lot of buzz before its release but the negative reviews seem to play spoilsport. According to the Telugu BO tracker, Ramarao on Duty collects Rs 5.95 Cr gross worldwide on Day 1 (Friday).
Box Office Telugu States
It raised Rs 2.82 Cr shares (Rs 4.75 Cr gross) in the domestic market of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. It won most shares of Nizam Rs 85L followed by Ceeded 52L and UA Rs 45L. It now needs to fetch Rs 14.58 Cr to emerge as a global box office hit.
The film needs to gain momentum over the weekend to become a blockbuster, as all recent releases have failed to do so. The Warriorr had won well on day one but suffered a big crash on day two and couldn’t take off over the weekend.
The film’s pre-release business is valued at Rs 17.20 Cr worldwide, so it needs to fetch around Rs 18 Cr to become a hit film. The Telugu states break-even point is Rs 16 Cr.

The film received mixed to negative responses from critics, they analyzed the narration, script and characterization, while Teja’s performance and the film’s background music received praise.
