Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s Brahmastra closed its opening week with a net total of Rs 167 crore for all India. The movie hit Rs 9.25 crore on Thursday and now the movie is in for a big surprise on the second Friday. According to early trends, the Hindi version of Brahmastra is peaking at nearly 20% in national channels and the trend is uniform across the board, with a double-digit day expected for the film.
Based on very early trends and limited sample analysis, Brahmastra is expected to collect between Rs 10.00 and Rs 10.75 crore on the second Friday. With that, the film laid the groundwork to explode into the second weekend and comfortably zoom into the Rs 200 crore club at the box office. The Hindi version shows the best jump, while the Telugu and other southern dubbed versions are more or less stable compared to Thursday. The Hindi version is looking to raise around Rs 9.25 crore to Rs 9.65 crore on Friday, and the holdback in the southern version will determine the total for all of India. The eight-day Hindi total will fall in the Rs 157.50 crore range, with South Dubbed in the Rs 19.70 crore range, bringing India’s total to Rs 177.25 crore.
Brahmastra Day Wise Collection:
First week: Rs 167 crore (Hindi: Rs 148 crore, South Dubbed: Rs 19 crore)
2nd Friday: Rs 10.25 crore (Hindi: Rs 9.40 crore, South Doubled: Rs 70 lakh)
Total: 177.25 crore (Hindi: Rs 157.40 crore; South Dubbed (Rs 19.70 crore)
Movies typically drop on the second Friday, and Brahmastra defied that trend at the box office. With a double-digit Friday, director Ayan Mukerji will aim for a second all-Indian weekend in the Rs 40 crore range, with Hindi contributing north of Rs 37 crore. The movie generally has the streak of a Marvel movie, and therefore we’re not ruling out the possibility of strong growth on Saturday and Sunday.
At the end of the second weekend, Brahmastra (all versions) will be sitting upside Rs 205 crore, and taking from there will determine if he has a chance to enter the Rs 250 crore club. On the overseas front, Brahmastra closed the opening week at $10.15 million (Rs 81 crore). The global opening week gross stands at Rs 278 crore, and it will surpass the global box office benchmark of Rs 300 crore by midday on Saturday.
