Amazon announces free comic content and advertising service

Harsh Goyal, director and head of advertising at Amazon, said this collaboration with India’s digitally-focused content creators is a step in providing transparent and engaging entertainment for the company.

While Chanchlani’s show will provide a glimpse into the world of a beauty and fashion influencer, Gaur will discuss how to survive the end of the month with little to no money.

Launched in May, miniTV is an ad-supported free video service available in Amazon’s Android app that features a library of web series, comedy skits, tech videos, lifestyle, and food to start with.

With this launch, Amazon offers two video entertainment offerings: miniTV and Prime Video. The latter requires a Prime membership and offers a collection of Amazon Originals, movies and TV shows, in English and nine Indian languages. Viewers can access Prime Video on the app or stream it to their smart TVs.

miniTV, available on Amazon’s shopping app for Android phones, will expand to the iOS app and mobile web over the coming months.

Amazon Prime Video made the news for originals such as The family man season 2 and digital films such as Sherni, Malik and Narappa, among others.
