It’s Gangubai Kathiawadi all the way, as the Friday collections were also very good. The film brought 3.50 crore* more and that’s pretty good considering Monday was 5.01 crores. The movie had a great second weekend and now the way the weekdays started it’s now ready to go through 100 Crores Club by tomorrow.
Currently, Gangubai Kathiawadi is located at 95.72 crore* and before release, few were sure it would even be the Lifetime Collection. There were many apprehensions, whether due to pandemic concerns or theater availability. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film took a gamble and decided to happen even with so many uncertainties. Then Jayantilal Gada had a job in hand to make sure the film grew to the right distribution across the country. The rest was taken care of by the promo and once the audience started chiming in, there was no turning back.
Gangubai Kathiawadi is on his way to becoming a good rough now and no fixed number can be predicted at this time. It will all depend on how this Friday outing Radhe Shyam opens and that would affect the eventual run of Alia Bhatt’s standout.
