Altoona Community Theater Presents “Holiday Channel Christmas Movie Wonderthon” conducted by Sam Wagner at 7:30 p.m. November 17-19 and 2 p.m. November 20 at the Mishler Theater.

This comedy — a parody of holiday rom-coms — is set in Hopewood Falls, Vermont, where Christmas is a time of magic, cherished traditions, and a time to watch as many original TV movies as a human being can stomach.

Can fancy dress help royalty and/or movie stars find the down-to-earth connections they crave? Will the evil townspeople destroy the charming inns and/or Christmas tree farms?

The cast includes Jonathan O’Harrow and William Baumann as narrators who guide the audience through six Christmas romances that take place at the same time in this hilarious holiday parody.

The couples are: Gina Volpe as Holly, a failing inn owner, and Jason Schwartz as Brett, a handsome handyman; Jerry Cox as Paul and Stephanie Curry as Joy, two lonely, single novelists; Dan Evers as Blake, a tree farm owner, and Coryell Barlow as Merry, a real estate lawyer; Kayla Rosas as Noelle, an ornament shop owner, and Alex Way as Kris, who returns to town to play Santa Claus; Tony Malvoisin as Sven, a secret prince, and Maria Perehinec as Rita, a movie star in disguise; and Julia Binus as Carol, a retired war reporter, and Bradyn Yahner as Jackson, a widowed vet still grieving. The cast also includes Joshua Curry as Laertes, an evil developer, Lucy Criag and Julie Willett as fan girls.

As a bonus, game participants are invited to dress in their best looking Christmas movie, matching pajamas, cheesiest Christmas jumper or cozy snuggie. A comfortable background for you to take a picture in front of you will be provided.

Tickets are on sale for $13, $16 and $19 at the Mishler Box Office Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and one hour before a performance. online at Mishlertheatre.org or by phone at 814-944-9434.
