Comedy plays a very important role in providing that happiness and that joy of the laughs and smiles that follow. Comedy comes in various forms ranging from television, film, radio, stand-up to literature. Fortunately, we are in a time when there is a high demand for comedy content on social media, especially short skits.
Here’s why all forms of comedy are needed:
We live in a very stressful world. Cope with daily work routines, catch up with tight deadlines to get stuck in heavy traffic on a daily basis and live with pesky and ugly neighbors. These elements trigger stress reactions in the body, which in turn can lead to nervous breakdown and more health problems. Indeed, depressive and anxiety disorders set in and it becomes difficult to assume daily tasks.
Watching or listening to anything that has comic value is a good remedy for relieving stress and this is because when you laugh and have happy, cheerful expressions on your face, it releases neuropeptides endorphins which help the body to relax and feel relieved.
Therefore, get into the habit of always consuming something that will make you laugh and smile. This can be early in the morning, during peak hours and daytime hours, or before going to sleep. This will ensure that your mind is stress free.
The result of consuming anything that contains comedy means that your mood is greatly improved. Rather than having feelings of frustration, regret, rejection, pain, hurt, and all the negative emotions that can come with the ups and downs of day to day life, our bodies were designed to conquer without having to bad feelings.
This is very necessary because a positive outlook on life is the only way to live well. The quality of life is reduced in many parts of the world because people’s state of mind is filled with negative thoughts. The better the mood, the longer and better the life.
3. Relieves anxiety and tension
Living in an environment prone to danger and violence can cause very tense and anxious times such that there is not even confidence to look at the next person nearby. It can also be fatal. It is not good from a mental health point of view and remedies must be taken before it gets out of hand causing the body to breakdown completely.
Watching and listening to comedy is an inexpensive remedy that can help for reasons already stated at the beginning as it helps to lighten the mood, thus erasing those fears and disturbances of the mind. Continued practice of this can have immense long-term mental health benefits.
